Titles...

Titles are precious to those who have them, the upper classes, and not all work the same way.

For all the Liran or lordlings (Lyran, Luran, Loran, Leran, Laran)the titles are inherited. Except for Liran being the whole group's name the titles show power in that the farther from A the higher up the rank. If you are the eldest male or female in your family you are the Heir apparent and receive the Title of your highest ranking Parent as well as the estates of them both as your own. Your siblings recieve the title of the lesser ranked parent (if there is one) and whatever you deign to give them or your parents gift to them before dying. Exceptions are that there are a few titles that cannot be inherited.

First is Tir or Tira, this title passes onto the Shad or Shada with the Heirs Mark and all the other siblings upon their brother or sister's ascension of the throne are categorized as the 'Gen' or siblings of the ruler.

One sibling is appointed Geno, or Public Heir, to inherit if both Tiran and all their children Shadan die. This also is not a title passed from parent to child, and as the parent used to be a Shadan this title does not replace any other title.

The children of the Gen and Geno are Shydan, cousins of the Shadan, this title cannot be passed on and it is the children of the current Shadan who do not inherit that will be the next Shydan. Children of Shydan can be title-less or move into one of the titles that are earned not inherited.

Shadan is also a title not inherited as this title is passed on by a Tiran and the Shadan give birth to the Shydan.

Neven is a title earned, it applies to all people volunteering to serve their Realm in one way or another, Public Nevens can be High Nevens; coordinating the movements of lower enforcement Nevens and gaurding the Royal City and Royal State of Serlan. They can be Traveling Nevens which have a territory to patrol in which they apply their supperior law enforcing talents. Or there are Local Nevens to handle everyday chaos and problems and to help out in general. As for private Nevens these are the spys, [Neven]'s are peasants temproarily on watch for the Realm and giving them info, and {Neven}'s are permenant spys for the Realm. Neither of these last two Nevens can acknowledge their private titles out loud with out loosing their usefulness and their titles, when Neven is spoken as a person's title they are a Public Neven, all private Nevens assume the titles the Tiran bestow upon them for their missions.

Rel is also a non inherited title of a sort. To be a Rel you must have a mother or grandmother who was a Shadan or Shydan and you must work in the Palace for the Royalty, but your job is stable, safe, and secure as long as you can do what's asked of you, which is never too much for you to handle. You may also be the child of a current Rel to join up.
